Stitching the Neckline

Neckline up close Finished front bodice To stitch the neckline, I drew a template on some scrap paper.  I had traced the pattern, and then just experimented freehand with different neckline shapes.  My daughter insisted that this dress have a lower neckline then her last two.  I kind of like a higher neckline so it can really hide whatever they are wearing underneath.  She always felt a bit strangled!  So this one is lower, although it still covers her collarbones and all.  I was going to do a triple row of stitching, one of each pink color as I have done with the sleeve, but once I did the first row I changed my mind.  On the neckline for the two back pieces I actually did two smaller rows of two colors.  Next to each other it looks fine.

I will hand sew the whole thing back together now, and see how it looks with the sleeves.
