Last Weekend

The Race

My busy daughter had her recital for her Modern Dance class this past weekend.  This was a photo from her dance, called The Race.  It was about running a marathon.  The kids did a great job, and Tara is all excited to attend dance camp over the summer.  I was totally impressed by the show, both the Junior and the Senior sections.  She was in the junior performance this year and they did two shows.  We also watched one of the senior sections.  I’ve been to many, many, dance performances over the years…..but this is the first one I’ve been to where the whole show was really ALL about the dancers.  Not a minute of anything but the kids.  I was completely impressed by many aspects of the show.  The costumes were amazing, so age appropriate, tasteful, artistic and complimentary to each dance.  I can easily say I am looking forward to next year.

So I did take a minor break from her Irish dress to focus on this performance.  I am working hard on fit now.  All the sewing is done.  The skirt is attached to the underbodice, zippers are in, bloomers are made, headband is crystal’d, now we just have to get the fit right.  That is the hardest part.  Will have some photos soon.
