Miles of Ruffles
Well it felt like I was making miles of ruffles today. It was more like yards…but they do add up. These pictures show just the front of the skirt. There is an equal number of ruffles for both back sections. Should be piles of fun once I get them all sewn down! I do like how they came out. The design in my head had a nice gradual color change from the lightest pink to the deep rose…(which was originally supposed to be followed by red, but then changed to black….thats another story though.) I feel like that plan was achieved. In person the ruffles look very rich, like you just want to dive right in.
I am trying to get this done by this weekend…..really don’t know if I’ll make it. Everything is still in pieces, but for the most part the pieces are done. Still thinking on how to finish off the cape. I’d like the back of it to look as smooth as the front. Will have to play with it some more. The neckline is the last bit that still needs a plan. I think I’m going with a nice sweetheart line. Love those, and my dancer wants this neckline to not be as high as her last dress. I like a high neckline because then she does not have to be as careful about what she is wearing underneath. Some of the sports bras come up very high on the shoulder into the neckline. I do understand her desire though and will come up with a good look. Till tomorrow!
