The Whole Bodice

I am catching up on a bunch of posts today!  Here is the completed bodice.  The zipper is in!  The sleeves are on.  Most everything is still hand sewn, I will go back and machine sew all of the seams.  If you look closely enough you can see some of the basting thread sticking out here and there…..thats just how it goes.  Much thanks always goes to the ladies at feis dress because they really emphasize how important it is to baste things before you sew them.  It has really been the case here.  I’ve avoided lots of problems by checking the fit before the final sewing.  My daughter is happy with how this fits and looks and most importantly feels.

We’ve been working on the fit of the skirt.  Thats going to take a bit more time.  The skirt is too wide at the waist, and I am working on where and how to fold the pleats so as to keep things in proportion.  She is pretty excited as we are very nearly done.  But I know that I can’t rush this part as the dress must fit well.  More soon!
