First Sundress

This was the first sundress I made for Chloe this season.  I just loved this fabric and thought about how cute she would look in the big bold flowers.

Chloe in her Alexander Henry Dress Of course she does!  This one is a size 3T.  I adapted Simplicity pattern 5936.  I’ve had this pattern sitting around for a while so I don’t know if it is still the same or even still available.  I am still learning about putting different fabrics together, and there is nothing like a happy little girl to give a person inspiration.  I can make dresses for her all day!

Now her brother is a huge fashionista…..very GQ according to my sister.  I may have to start searching for something great for him.  I did just pick up Heather Ross’s book, Weekend Sewing and it has a pattern in it for a boys button down shirt that seems quite nice.  Don’t know that I’ll be able to just whip up something like that, but if I find some great fabric I may give it a try.  I hate to leave him out of the Aunt Colleen fun summer outfit party……..but I have a son too and was never really able to find good, fun, boy items that he loved.  All suggestions are welcome!

I am waiting on receiving some items to get to work on, for some Irish customers.  I am at a lull for a week or so, hense the slow blogging and fun projects rather than just the work.  I am just about to make a whole bunch of pillows for a waiting room that I frequent.  I just want to be comfortable, and it could use a little color!  Pictures when I’m done….promise!
