Summer Fun

We’ve been having a very busy time this summer.  Feels like we’ve been deep into our activities for months instead of just a few weeks.  So far we have…….been taking swimming lessons.  Trevor had a few private lessons with an amazing teacher, Daniella.  In just two hour lessons he made tons of progress.  Now he is in the middle of his group lessons.  In this photo he is using the yellow noodle, and Daniella is talking to the life guard because noodles are not allowed in the town pool.  But all of the lifeguards know her, so they made an exception since this was an actual lesson and not play time.

We have also celebrated a birthday!  The big 13!  Major teen party to come……this was the small family dinner with two close friends on my actual birthday event.

Can’t beat the Olive Garden for pleasing picky teens.  The funny part was when the whole staff came to sing the Happy Birthday song, where was the birthday girl and her two buddies……in the bathroom!  Where else!

Off to Camp……

Yes off the the traditional summer Sleep-Away camp.

This is her second year attending this camp and as parents we could not ask for a better place.  We keep saying it is like the camps you see in movies…..everything you could ask for!  Last year it was four of them from their grade, bunking together.  This year it is two of them, along with a lovely girl that they met and immediately bonded with last summer.  They kept in touch all year and picked the same week to go this summer.  You can see from the picture how much they are going to miss thier parents!

In addition to these fun things we’ve also had a week of Irish Dance workshop, various 9 yr old boy playdates, weekend feis trips, and family visits.  In some ways I feel like the summer is just getting started because I know how much we still have planned to do!  I still have lots of sewing work.  I am in a short lull as I await some work that is being started elsewhere.  I am in the planning process of my fabric shopping trip down to the garment district in the city (NY).  My friend and I just need to set the date.
