Summer of the Sundress

Sometimes when you get something in your head that you need to do, you have to just keep doing it until it finally goes away.  I’ve been making sundresses in my head for a few months.  It started with some really neat fabric, and then just grew from there.  I just keep thinking of sweet embellishments and want to make a dress to put them on.  Here is the latest.  It is somemore Alexander Henry fabric.  I think it is called Bangle Dot.  Everyone I know calls it jellybeans.  Seems perfect.  I paired it with a leaf green dotted print.  Both fabrics I purchased at Joann’s.

It was all about the ruffle for this dress.  I used Simplicity pattern 2680.  Did a few revisions, but not anything drastic.  Put a zipper in the back, and added the bow to make it a bit more flexible.  That gives the child a little room to grow.  When paired with a t-shirt it will last well into the Fall.

Don’t know if it is out of my system yet…..but I’ve got a client coming over tonight so my waiting time might be filled with a different project.  Still waiting for some embroidered pieces to be sent for me to complete.  Can’t wait for those!
